Every coffee table is built to order. I work closely with you to select a character-rich, naturally fallen timber slab and design a piece that matches the exact flow, scale, and texture of your home. To complement the rugged texture of the timber, I incorporate premium brass accents, whether inlaid to stabilise natural checks or utilised in the structural base, giving the raw history of the wood an elegant, sophisticated finish.
As a signature mark of its craftsmanship, a custom solid brass Burl & Griffin makers medallion is seamlessly set directly into the surface of every single piece. It stands as a permanent, flush-fit promise of the table's authenticity, its local Canberra heritage, and the deeper purpose behind its creation.
My Design Signatures

I source salvaging-grade Australian hardwoods , choosing timber with deep character, natural scarring, and history. Working with full live-edge slabs allows me to preserve the natural, organic perimeter of the tree, bringing the raw shape of the forest straight into a home.

Rather than avoiding knots, cracks, or deep natural splits, I let them guide the entire build. I take the time to design directly around these features using brass metal keep it together. This turns what others might call a structural defect into the stunning, glass-like focal point of the piece.

To bridge the gap between rugged, live-edge beauty and modern spaces, I purposefully introduce at least one clean, crisp edge or sleek, contemporary profiles into the build. This careful balance gives you the untamed character of Australian timber in a refined structure that fits seamlessly into a modern home.

There is something timeless about how polished brass contrasts against deep wood grain. Every custom piece features my signature brass Burl & Griffin medallion, hand chiseled and inlaid flush with the timber surface, a striking premium detail that stamps the piece as an authentic, locally crafted build.
