I believe every piece of timber has a story to tell, and my mission is to craft high-quality pieces while supporting men’s mental health, ensuring every build makes a real-world impact beyond the workshop.
Meet the Maker
I’m Josh, and Burl & Griffin is where I bring the art of woodworking and purpose together. When I’m not on shift as a firefighter, I’m in the workshop building pieces that are meant to last, but the heart of this business goes much deeper than timber. Losing my dad to suicide when I was 19 changed my life, and it’s the reason why supporting men’s mental health is at the core of everything I do here in Canberra. To me, woodworking is about more than just the finished product; it’s about creating a space for honest work and real conversations. Whether it’s a custom design or a handmade gift, every piece is built with grit and a genuine mission to look out for one another. You can see the full story behind the sawdust here.
